This tea light holder is hand-turned from Swiss Pear, one of my favourite woods to turn because it  cuts beautifully and gives a lovely smooth finish.

Different woods react differently to fractal burning, depending on their density and individual grain pattern. With Swiss pear, the burn produces a particularly fine pattern, with smaller, delicate, lightning-like branches that stand out beautifully against the warm natural colour of the wood.

I made two of these from pieces of Swiss pear that were of a similar size. They are designed to complement each other rather than be identical, with the natural grain of the wood and the fractal burn pattern making each one individual.

This one is sold separately and comes with a small glass insert for a tea light. A similar companion tea light is also available in the shop if you would like a pair.
